Councillor Vacancy: Village Ward Seat Open for Co-option
28 May 2026
A casual vacancy has arisen on Weston Turville Parish Council for the Village Ward, following the resignation of Councillor Rachel Blackmore.
The vacancy was announced on 28 May 2026. Residents had until 17 June to request a by-election by submitting a written request to the Returning Officer at Buckinghamshire Council. If ten or more eligible electors made such a request, a formal election would have been held. If not, the council would fill the seat by co-option — meaning existing councillors would select a replacement from applications received.
The deadline has now passed. Residents interested in getting involved in parish governance are encouraged to contact the council directly, as further opportunities to serve may arise.
The Parish Council meets regularly throughout the year and is responsible for a range of local matters, including maintaining green spaces, overseeing community facilities, and representing residents' interests in planning and highways decisions.
Anyone wishing to find out more about how to become a parish councillor can contact the Clerk to the Council at the Village Hall on School Approach, or by calling 01296 612838.
