Major Works Begin at Woodlands Roundabout on the A41

8 April 2026

Major highways works have begun at Woodlands Roundabout on the A41, marking the start of a significant construction phase for the Hampden Fields development that is expected to take around 12 months to complete.

Planning approval for the new roundabout was granted on 19 February 2026. The design uses what engineers describe as a 'hamburger-style' layout, intended to improve traffic flow on one of the main routes in and out of the village.

Tree removal in the surrounding area has already taken place, carried out outside nesting season in line with environmental best practice. A comprehensive landscaping scheme is planned once construction is complete, which will include replanting of hedgerows and trees to mitigate the visual impact of the works.

The roundabout will remain open to traffic during the early phases of construction, with work initially focused on the surrounding fields rather than the junction itself.

As part of the wider Hampden Fields planning conditions, traffic calming measures within Weston Turville village are also required once the new link road from New Road opens. Maps showing the proposed changes are available to view via the Parish Council website.

Nine planning applications connected to the Hampden Fields site have now been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council, with a further four expected over the coming months.

Residents with questions or concerns about the works are encouraged to contact the Parish Council.
